The film starts off comedic, a satire on Hitler and the young boys recruited towards the end of WWII. But then, it starts getting tragic, but somehow ends in a positive note.

The spoof on Hitler was well-acted by  writer/director/co-producer Taika Waititi, based on Christine Leunens's book Caging Skies. Roman Griffin Davis portrays the title character, Johannes "Jojo" Betzler, a Hitler Youth member who finds out his mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. He then questions his beliefs, as he deals with his imaginary friend,  Adolf Hitler (Waititi).

It's quite an entertaining film, especially if you like spoofs and satires.
