Mom’s the Word 3 was a hit last March and April at the Granville Island Stage, and now it's on tour. It's the same director and cast (Jill Daum, Alison Kelly, Beatrice Zeilinger, Barbara Pollard, and Deborah Williams) except for Zeilinger who replaces Robin Nichol. It was a standing ovation at the curtain call, last October 11 at the Surrey Arts Centre, and all throughout the play, everyone was laughing, especially the middle-aged and above women in the audience.

There was joking around, singing (at the end of the first act), dancing in the second act, and monologues from each character self-revealing good and bad aspects of parenting and all the frustrations of raising a child especially if that child is now an adult and comes back to live with you. Unlike the old days, once you leave the nest, you don't come back, except for visits. But these days, with the harsh economic conditions, our children keep on coming back and living with us.

The audience enjoyed the "F...Alzheimers" T-shirt routine in the Second Act, as they sang and danced hip-hop style. It was a lively show, full of energy, and never a dull moment. The show will tour the lower mainland and then go on to other cities in BC.
