This American horror thriller film about twelve strangers who wake up in a clearing not knowing where they are, or how they got there and why they've been chosen is the main plot of this movie written by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof. The film stars Betty Gilpin and and Hilary Swank.

The film had drawn criticisms from pundits on both sides of the political aisle, as well as U.S. President Donald Trump, for its targeting of red-state voters and depiction of "liberal elites" However, I feel that the film defends Trump and the right-wing, in that the "deep state" or the liberal elite composed of Obama, the Clintons and other billionaire democrats, represented as the hunters in this film, are defeated in the end. For Zobel and Lindelof, the film is a satire on the political divide between the American left and right.

For me, it was an entertaining film Towards the end, the martial arts scene betwee Gilpin was long and quite bloody, but well choreographed. It´s a "feel good" film in the sense that the bad guys lose at the end.
